The City College of New York is one of the nation?s ?Best Value? colleges and universities, according to The Princeton Review. The education services company profiles CCNY in its book, ?The Best Value Colleges: 2013 Edition,? (Random House / Princeton Review) published February 5, 2013.
Subtitled ?The 150 Best-Buy Colleges and What It Takes to Get In,? the book profiles 75 public and 75 private colleges The Princeton Review designates as ?Best Values.? That assessment is based on an examination of more than 30 data points covering academics, cost, and financial aid.
The book?s editors praise City College for ?offering a prestigious education to a diverse student body at an astonishingly low cost.? It also quotes CCNY students, who described the College as ?providing the intellectual and emotional growth that comes with higher education.?
?We commend The City College of New York and all of our extraordinary 2013 ?Best Value Colleges? for their stellar academics and for all they are doing to make their colleges affordable, especially for applicants with need in these tough economic times,? said Robert Franek, Princeton Review?s senior VP/publisher.
The Princeton Review is also known for its annual school rankings and profiles in its book, ?The Best 377 Colleges,? published in August, and its books, ?The Best 296 Business Schools? and ?The Best 168 Law Schools,? published in October, as well as its school profiles in its ?Guide to 322 Green Colleges,? published in April. City College is included in the ?Best 377 Colleges? and ?322 Green Colleges? guides, as well.
